This guide will highlight resources available about African American Literature at UNCP.

Welcome

This resource will assist you in researching topics in African American Literature.  In this guide you will find listings for print reference sources, article databases, and subject terms for searching BraveCat and other catalogs.

In researching topics about African American Literature and authors, you may use a variety of resources such as BraveCat and databases to conduct your research.

A good place to begin your research is subject encyclopedias. Subject encyclopedias, such as the Dictionary of Literary Biography and the various encyclopedias of the Oxford Reference Online collection, provide background information on authors and works.

If you are unsure about how to begin writing a literature paper, see Writing a Literature Paper under the Style Guides tab. Guides about using the databases are located here as well.
