Mission Statement

By providing information resources and services, facilities and technology, Mary Livermore Library supports learning and teaching, research, creation of knowledge, intellectual growth, and enrichment of the academic experience.  The university works to “change lives through education,” while the library “enhances education through research.”


Library Strategic Plan

  • Support Institutional Effectiveness: Mary Livermore Library will pursue projects and outcomes which contribute to institutional goals and objectives and support the mission of the campus.
  • Provide Informed Leadership Decisions: Mary Livermore Library will utilize data and trends from within the library and IR to inform decision-making and resource allocation effectively and efficiently.
  • Collaborate with Campus and Community Partners: Mary Livermore Library seek opportunities with campus departments, faculty, students, and the broader community to develop partners in education and engagement.
  • Develop Library Spaces: Mary Livermore Library will improve both in-person and online spaces to engage students, facilitate research and education, and spark creativity in the pursuit of knowledge and skills.
  • Increase Collection Relevance: Mary Livermore Library will develop, preserve, organize, educate, and market collections needed by users while continuing to improve digital and physical accessibility.
