WorldCat is a global catalog which itemizes the collections of 71,000 libraries in over 112 countries which participate in the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC). The catalog is built and maintained collectively by the participating libraries.

In the event that there are books you wish to borrow but are not part of the Mary Livermore Library's collections, you may search WorldCat to find them. WorldCat can search most of the libraries in the world to see where that book is available. WorldCat works like BraveCat in that you can search it using keywords, title, author, etc. When you find a book in WorldCat that you would like to borrow, record the bibliographic information about the item and request the material through the Library's Document Delivery service - or simply request the item through WorldCat directly from the item record.

Request Materials from Other Libraries

All UNCP faculty, staff and students are eligible to request materials not owned by the Library. Requests are placed through ILLiad, UNCP's interlibrary loan and document requesting service. Books and articles can be picked up from the Circulation Desk once notified that they have arrived. Delivery of articles occurs electronically whenever possible, through transmission of PDF files. The service is free to all students. If you have any questions regarding your ILL request or resetting a password, please call 910.521.6615 or 910.521.6658.

To begin requesting any materials you might need for your research, please go to the ILLiad log-in page and click 'First Time Registration.'
