Account Information: You must create an account to receive access to all of the features of the New York Times. After setting up an account, you can select to sign up to receive topical newsletters from NYT. Features include:

  • Archives (dating back to 1851)
  • Virtual Reality app - which allows you (with a VR viewer) to experience select NYT content in 3D
  • Daily 360 content - two dimensional, 360° views (with mobile device or using a mouse)
  • Podcasts (including the new "Daily" podcast)
  • NYT Videos
  • Newsletters (there are a variety of topics that you may subscribe to)

TimesMachine: Over 150 years of New York Times journalism, as it originally appeared. Search every issue of the NYTs through 2002. Full-text access to the New York Times, including archives dating back to 1851, is accessible through the TimesMachine.

Renewal:

Approximately a year after you set up your account, you will need to re-affirm your account.

Simply repeat the steps for creating an account and your access will be restored

Usage Notes:

Users do not need to log in the Post or create a personal account; however they can Sign in and access features such as newsletters and the My Post feature and My Reading List where articles can be saved. Users will still see ads because on the site license allows users access to The Washington Post beyond the paywall but does not provide an ad-free experience.

Account Information:

My Post is your personal destination for saved stories, article recommendations, account management tools, and billing information. You do not need to purchase a subscription to use the features located in MyPost.

My Post can be accessed by clicking on your username in the top-right corner of the website and then selecting "My Post" or by going to www.washingtonpost.com/my-post.

You can add items to a My Reading List. Click the + (plus sign) in the upper right of the article to add it.

You can also set up your account to get newsletters and alerts from the Post. You can edit this list at any time.

 


The Chronicle allows the creation of a personal account.

When you access the Chronicle of Higher Education using the above link, select the "Sign Up" tab to create a free account using your institutional or organizational email address. You also have the option to sign up for The Chronicle's free email newsletters during the registration process.

Activate your account by confirming your email address. 

Once you’ve signed in to your free account, visit the newsletters link to sign-up for the email newsletters that you would like to receive.

Subscription provides:
Unlimited access to The Chronicle's content, daily news, and data.

Searchable access to articles and essays dating back to 1989 are included, as well as special issues such as The Almanac of Higher Education and The Trends Report.
